Rhea Ripley's on-screen romance with Dominik Mysterio, which lasted for nearly two years, became one of the highlights on RAW. Former RAW Tag Team Champion Buddy Matthews recently discussed a potential program involving all three of them.
Mami is still reeling from the infamous night that saw "Dirty" Dom ditch her for Liv Morgan at SummerSlam this year. Mysterio has now become the front and center of the ongoing storyline between Ripley and Morgan. At Bad Blood, Dominik Mysterio will be locked inside a shark cage above the ring for the Women's World Championship match between Liv Morgan (c) and Rhea Ripley.
During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Buddy Matthews admitted that there's potential in a three-way storyline featuring himself, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio.
The former WWE and AEW champion also revealed that he and his wife had fantasy-booked their dream program.
"Oh, 100 percent… And we’ve fantasy-booked and I’ve thrown ideas at her. She’s like, ‘That would be so cool.’ Obviously, don’t wanna let it out because if it ever eventually did ever happen, it’s something cool to kind of play off but, it’s definitely ways to do it which would be very smart and catch people," Matthews said.
The House of Black member reflected on his history with the Mysterio family. Despite working in different companies, Buddy Matthews feels a "forbidden door" could open up to materialize the dream program.
"I had Dom’s first or second match in WWE. I was there with Seth when he hit him with a Singapore cane 100 times. I ‘dated’ his sister, you know what I mean? I was a part of the Mysterio family. Long-term storytelling is there if we wanted to go back and do it, and the footage is there so, whether it is a relationship-form or just insert — there’s ways of doing it...So, and then again, with where we are with wrestling today, you can break that fourth wall in a way. They do in Deadpool & Wolverine… Maybe there’s a forbidden door that’s unknown and may open up eventually. Who knows?" he added. [H/T: POST Wrestling]
Rhea Ripley reacts after Buddy Matthews threatens Dominik Mysterio
During an Instagram live, Buddy Matthews discussed the idea of a potential match with WWE Superstar Dominik Mysterio.
The House of Black member implied "Dirty" Dom isn't half the man he is.
"The only way Dom would ever beat me is if I was a chicken tender and he was hungry" said Matthews.
In the video, Rhea Ripley could be heard chuckling in the background.
Regardless, the chances of seeing the two men collide are slim to none, since Buddy Matthews recently signed a contract extension with All Elite Wrestling.
