Will The Nature Boy have a legendary AEW run?
Will The Nature Boy have a legendary AEW run?

Ric Flair shocked the industry last night when he showed up at AEW Dynamite to reunite with one of his oldest rivals and friends, Sting. Since then, The Nature Boy has broken his silence on social media.

The Icon and Flair have a long, rich history and have clashed many times. According to many, and Sting himself, Naitch was the one who put him on the map and allowed him to become a megastar.

With Sting's retirement in sight, Ric Flair will likely join him on his swan song. In light of his recent debut, The Nature Boy took to social media to hint that he'll be very involved with The Icon in AEW:

"I’m Ready For This Journey In @AEW With My Dear Friend The Icon @Sting! WOOOOO!"

Reports claim that Ric Flair's AEW debut was simply delayed

The Nature Boy has unfortunately been quite controversial across his career, with his rockstar life often bleeding into his professional career. Not too long ago, Flair was subject to serious claims during a Dark Side of the Ring episode, which is believed to have affected his AEW debut.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Ric Flair planned to debut in AEW just before the episode aired and that he was initially going to manage Andrade El Idolo:

"I know that he was gonna go there right when that Dark Side of the Ring thing came out. I don't know this, but I was assuming that he was gonna go as the manager of Andrade. But he and Tony Khan had a verbal deal, and then after Dark Side came out, it was not the right time."

It remains to be seen if Ric Flair will continue in AEW as Andrade El Idolo's manager after Sting retires next year. Only time will tell, but the combination of the two men could help Andrade elevate himself to AEW's Main Event.
