74-year-old veteran Ric Flair has expressed his desire to wrestle again and revealed he wishes to face a former arch-rival and WWE Hall of Famer one more.

Ric Flair recently took to X and shared a video clip that highlights moments from one of the many matches the Nature Boy worked with Sting in WCW. The Nature Boy stated in the caption that he wishes he could wrestle Sting once more, like in the old days.

Ric Flair and Sting's iconic rivalry began with their famed 1988 bout at Clash of the Champions, where the Icon challenged the former for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. The two wrestled to a 45-minute time-limit draw. The two have wrestled each other numerous times over the years across a number of promotions, including in a singles match that main-evented the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro in 2001.

Ric Flair debuted in AEW as Tony Khan's retirement gift to Sting in an October 2023 episode of Dynamite. The 16-time world champion has been accompanying the Sting and his partner Darby Allin in their recent matches. Flair even engaged in some physicality with Powerhouse Hobbs during a recent tag match between the team of Sting and Allin and the Don Callis Family, represented by Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita.

Sting is gearing up for his final match to be held in Revolution 2024 at the famed Greensboro Coliseum. His final opponents will seemingly be the Young Bucks, who confronted Allin and Sting after their win on Dynamite.

Major update regarding Ric Flair's in-ring future in AEW

Since his arrival in AEW, Ric Flair has appeared alongside his long-time friend and rival Sting on the road to the latter's retirement. Recent updates have revealed information regarding his in-ring future in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

According to recent reports shared by Fightful Select, Flair has not been in any conversations on the subject of potential in-ring performances. Nonetheless, the report reveals that Flair has been pushing to take part in more physical spots.

The former WCW World Champion wrestled his last match in the July 2022 event Ric Flair's Last Match. The event saw the 74-year-old legend team with his real-life son-in-law Andrade El Idolo and defeat the duo of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Flair lost consciousness twice during the match due to dehydration and was barely able to reach the finish.

Since then, Flair has clarified that while he feels physically well, he does not plan to return to in-ring action. He has, however, engaged in physicality with Powerhouse Hobbs, chopping and poking the latter in the eye in his tornado tag match in the Homecoming 2024 edition of Dynamite. Hobbs and his partner Konosuke Takeshita lost to Darby Allin and Sting after being pinned by the latter following a devastating Scorpion Death Drop off a ledge and through multiple tables.
