Ricky Starks had a few things to say about his current situation with AEW just moments before this year's edition of Full Gear. This occurred during his surprise appearance on GCW.
The Absolute has not been seen in the Tony Khan-led promotion since March. He appears to be in perfect health, but it seems that both sides had failed to agree upon potential booking plans. Starks has recently talked about how he intends to accept bookings so that he does not stay stuck at home.
Ricky Starks made a surprise appearance during tonight's GCW show and aired his frustrations on the mic. He said he refused to stay stagnant as he wanted more out of his career. He also claimed that he was a generational star, and wished to go back down the road where it all started for him, the independent circuit. The journey began with GCW tonight.

Ricky Starks' next match revealed
It has been almost eight months since Ricky Starks competed in an AEW ring, and during this time he had only one official match on the independent circuit against QT Marshall in May.
In his absence, a lot has happened in the Jacksonville-based promotion including his former tag team partner Big Bill moving onto a new faction as he is now aligned with Chris Jericho in The Learning Tree.
Starks has just been booked for a match on Glory Pro Wrestling and he will be facing Kody 'Koko' Lane in a match for the A1 Zero Gravity Championship. He has been promoting the upcoming clash across his social media platforms.
It is unclear at this point whether Ricky will ever appear in AEW, seeing how lines appear to have been drawn. However, he is still under contract with the Tony Khan-led company and only time will tell what transpires.
