Ricky Starks has been missing from AEW television for several months now. The star recently responded to a social media post capturing a few moments from his time in the Tony Khan-led promotion, adding to conjecture regarding the future of his career.

The Absolute has emerged as an incredibly popular star in All Elite Wrestling, courtesy of his star-making work in the company with the likes of Chris Jericho, MJF, CM Punk, and the reigning AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson. However, the 34-year-old has been absent from programming since he and then-tag partner Big Bill were eliminated from the World Tag Team Title Tournament on Collision in March earlier this year.

Starks' lengthy hiatus has given rise to much speculation about the star's alleged creative frustrations in AEW amidst rumored interest from the promotion's rival company, WWE. The sports entertainment juggernaut currently employs many of Starks' friends and allies, including Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill.

A fan of the former FTW Champion recently took to X/Twitter to share several photographs they had clicked with Ricky Starks from past All Elite Wrestling shows, while heaping praise on the latter as well. The Louisiana native reacted with an interesting, retrospective response, which has led to speculations that Starks may have just bid farewell to fans and viewers of the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"Great memories! Thank you," wrote Starks.

Given that Starks is still under contract with All Elite Wrestling, however, the possibility that he was merely alluding to his memories of the shows from the photos in the fan's tweet cannot be dismissed.

Vince Russo on WWE signing AEW's Ricky Starks after the latter's contract expiry

On a recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo discussed the subject of WWE's reported interest in signing Ricky Starks after the latter's All Elite contract expires. Despite seemingly raising questions about the originality of Starks' character and personality, Russo insisted that the Triple H-led company could hire the former AEW World Tag Team Champion nonetheless.

"That's not to say they're not gonna hire him [Ricky Starks]. Because they got a lot of people that fall in that category. So you want another great little hand, hire him!" [03:43 onwards]

It remains to be seen if and when Ricky Starks will be brought back to All Elite Wrestling.
