Ricochet made a bold prediction regarding a high-stakes match that is coming up in the next edition of AEW Dynamite. The One and Only claimed that a former WWE Superstar might not be a part of the same.
AEW presented the first edition of Dynamite of the new year, Fight for the Fallen, last week. The show was highly successful and set the tone for the year and success Tony Khan's company can anticipate.
On the same show, it was announced that a Casino Gauntlet match would take place at the upcoming AEW Dynamite show on January 8. The winner will get a title shot at the World Championship at a new show titled AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage. The event will emanate from the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 15.
This led to the current top star, Ricochet, sharing some words before the match. Ricochet took to his X to claim that his new rival, Swerve Strickland, would not be a part of the Casino Gauntlet match.
"We know Swerve not gonna be in it. 🤓"
Why did Ricochet claim that Swerve Strickland would not take part in the Casino Battle Royale?
Ricochet had good reason for making a bold claim regarding Swerve Strickland's participation in the upcoming Casino Battle Royale. Last week on Dynamite, he showed a new dark side of him that the fans had never witnessed before.
A three-way match for the number one slot in the Casino Gauntlet took place, pitting Roderick Strong, Jay White, and Swerve Strickland against each other. Ricochet appeared out of nowhere in the audience to blindside Swerve with a heinous assault, stabbing him with a pair of scissors in the head and leaving him in a mess of his own blood.
This led Swerve to miss out on the advantage for the upcoming gauntlet match. However, he broke his silence on social media following the assault. It remains to be seen if Strickland will retaliate after being victimized by the former WWE star and be able to compete in the high-stakes Casino Gauntlet match.
