AEW star Ricochet has been confirmed for a huge World Championship match this weekend. The One and Only signed with All Elite Wrestling last year.
The former WWE star has been making quite a bit of noise ever since moving to AEW. He initially started as a babyface but the heat from the crowd has slowly turned him into a heel. The One and Only also has his sights set on the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship as seen at NJPW Power Struggle where he attacked IWGP World Champion Zack Sabre Jr. The match between the two was made official for Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.
However, there was a possibility that it could have been a non-title match due to Zack's title defense against Shota Umino at Wrestle Kingdom 19. The 37-year-old successfully retained his title in the Tokyo Dome today which confirms that his match against Ricochet at Wrestle Dynasty will be for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

It would be a huge shocker if the AEW star manages to defeat Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Dynasty.
Jim Cornette slams AEW star Ricochet's promo skills
Ricochet is one of the most exciting talents to watch in the wrestling ring. However, many believe that the one thing that holds him back from reaching the top of the mountain is his mic skills. WWE veteran Jim Cornette also agrees with it.
In a recent edition of his Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette claimed that The One and Only might have been a bigger star if he didn't cut promos or take shots at fans on social media.
"He might be a bigger star if you didn't hear him spin and maybe break his fingers so he can't talk on Twitter. If Ricochet could not communicate in any way with the fans, I think he'd be a superstar." [1:04 - 1:24]
We will have to wait and see if the heat The One and Only is getting from the fans helps him become a huge heel in All Elite Wrestling.
