Ricochet was present in this week's edition of AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash. He had an in-ring as well as a backstage segment.
The wrestling fans saw The One and Only trying to ally himself with The Hurt Syndicate, which didn't work out in his favor. Later, he addressed this interaction in a backstage interview with Rene Paquette. He also expressed his eagerness to face Will Ospreay again in the Continental Classics Tournament.
Soon after, Swerve Strickland with Prince Nana confronted him. Both the stars exchanged a few words of insult for one another. Mr. High Fly left the scene after he recalled The Realest Star's failure to win the Continental Classics Tournament last year and promised that he would win this year.
Just before departing, he laughed directly in Swerve's face, an act that many fans considered quite bizarre. His unusual laughter turned into a trending topic among fans on X (fka Twitter), and critics have been ridiculing him on the platform.
"They need to keep him away from all mics on the premises. It’s embarrassing at this point," a fan tweeted.
"He became a clown in AEW He was booked WAY better in WWE And his wife is without a job Their downfall needs to be studied," wrote this one.
These fans believe that Ricochet is not good on the mic.
"Maybe he's morphing into " Joker Ricochet ". I actually hope he's writing his own promos. At least he'd be the one to blame for how bad they are," read a tweet.
A person commented, "Dude found the cringiest thing imaginable and he’s like yeah, this good," a fan commented.
The Hurt Syndicate refused to take in Ricochet as the fourth member of their group
Ricochet shared an in-ring segment with The Hurt Syndicate on AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash. Tony Schiavone was interviewing him when Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP made their presence felt. The fans saw him try and get on their good side, hoping they would join hands with him.
MVP asked The One and Only to show the business card he handed him weeks ago. As the latter handed out the card, The All Mighty violently grabbed his head. The Franchise Playa then tore the card to pieces. But luckily, they left him unharmed.
