Ricochet has advanced to the semifinals of the Continental Classic tournament. Following this, he sent a message to wrestling fans on social media.
The Future of Flight has been a controversial figure in the world of professional wrestling of late. While his in-ring skills have been top-notch since debuting in AEW, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion has been criticized for his poor promo skills. This has resulted in some awkward segments in which Ricochet has tried to come off as a cool, tough guy, but his lack of verbal skills has left fans and critics with a bitter taste in their mouths.
The 36-year-old has made matters worse with his interactions with fans online. The former WWE star has not been receptive to any sort of criticism he has received and seems to get a bit defensive online. As a result, Ricochet's star power has dropped off considerably.
This week on AEW Dynamite on 34th Street, The One And Only was booed by the crowd during his match against Darby Allin. Despite this, he was able to secure a spot in the semifinals of the Continental Classic tournament after a time-limit draw against Darby.

Following this, the former Intercontinental Champion took to X (FKA Twitter) to tell his critics that it was too late for them to jump on the bandwagon.
"I don't wanna see anyone switching it up. If you didn't like me before, you missed your chance! No jumping on the bandwagon now. Cheese Curlers!" he wrote.

Jim Cornette also criticized Ricochet's promo skills
Every time the erstwhile Prince Puma has tried to cut a promo in AEW, he has received criticism from fans and experts. Even during backstage interviews and podcasts, his verbal skills haven't been convincing. The Future of Flight's recent backstage interaction with Swerve Strickland, in which he tried to taunt The Realest, is a good example of him being unconvincing on the microphone.
Even Jim Cornette addressed the former WWE star's promo skills during a recent episode of the Drive-Thru podcast. The wrestling veteran suggested the AEW star would be more over if the latter didn't speak.
"I'm surprised they didn't have somebody cut Ricochet's vocal cords. He might be a bigger star if you didn't hear him spin and maybe, break his fingers so he can't talk on Twitter. If Ricochet could not communicate in any way with the fans, I think he'd be a superstar," he said. [1:04-1:24]
It will be interesting to see if the former WWE United States Champion wins the Continental Classic tournament.
