Ricochet could potentially make his AEW debut by confronting an old rival at Forbidden Door 2024, according to a WWE analyst. The analyst in question is none other than Sam Roberts.
As per recent reports, The One and Only will soon be moving on from WWE. Ricochet's contract with the Stamford-based promotion is expected to expire sometime in July, and he was annihilated by Bron Breakker in a vicious backstage assault on RAW earlier this month in what could be his last appearance on the flagship show for the time being.
During the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts discussed the ongoing AEW World Title program involving Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay heading into Forbidden Door 2024.
The veteran brought up the possibility of Ricochet making his All Elite Wrestling debut and confronting Strickland (who retains his belt in this scenario) in the UBS Arena. The New Flavor shares history with Ricochet, having squared off against the latter in 2017 at MLW and The Wrestling Revolver.

Roberts also speculated that the former Intercontinental Champion could potentially compete in the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament as the wild card participant and then proceed to Wembley Stadium to challenge Swerve at All In 2024.
"Now, going to Forbidden Door, and I don't know what the contract status is, but do we see Ricochet? Like, at the end of that Will Ospreay - Swerve match, does Ricochet come out and present himself as the next opponent to Swerve? Is Ricochet gonna join the Owen Hart tournament and be that wild card? And Ricochet faces Swerve in Wembley?" [1:31:31 - 1:31:54]
Roberts further pointed out that the 35-year-old may not be constrained by a non-compete clause since his WWE contract will simply be running out, and reiterated that the end of Forbidden Door would be a worthwhile moment for Ricochet to debut in AEW.
"If the contract is up because there's not going to be a non-compete because Ricochet's contract is just running out, I just don't know when it actually runs out, but that would be a good spot because of his history with Swerve and Ospreay, regardless of what happens, the end of Forbidden Door would be a good sport to see Ricochet." Tony Khan on potentially signing Ricochet to AEW
Ricochet has been at the forefront of speculations amidst reports surrounding his WWE exit as fans and experts consider the possibility of The One and Only joining All Elite Wrestling.
However, upon being asked by TV Insider about the former US Champion, AEW President Tony Khan remained tight-lipped, refusing to discuss someone who, as he pointed out, was still a contracted talent.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Ricochet in the pro wrestling industry.
