Former WWE Superstar Ricochet recently got to talk about his move from WWE to AEW after making his debut for the latter a few weeks ago. He also talked about how his transition from one company to the other has been going.
The former United States Champion left the company after his contract expired back in July. He then surprisingly appeared at AEW All In as a participant in the Casino Gauntlet Match. However, he would fall short after Christian Cage stole the victory. He made his AEW in-ring debut a few days later, successfully defeating Kyle Fletcher.
While appearing on The Babyfaces Podcast, Ricochet mentioned how he loved his debut at All In. He then talked about how both the WWE and AEW locker rooms were great but mentioned how while transitioning to the latter, it went smoothly as he already knew several guys on the roster for years.
“Wembley was amazing. It really gave that big show feel, the big fight feel, it really did. The locker rooms make things different. Both locker rooms are great. I’ve known people are in All Elite [Wrestling] for probably my whole career I’ve known a lot of these guys, the Chuck Taylors and some of those guys since day one, so it was honestly a pretty easy transition.”

He continued saying that despite not seeing several names on the roster for a while, it did not feel as if these were reunions after a long period. He mentioned that he has had to adjust to a new environment, but he was just enjoying the experience as he felt that AEW may be the fuel to reigniting the fire inside of him.
“It was pretty smooth for me to transition over. I haven’t seen a lot of these fives in five, six, seven years, maybe longer. But honestly, it was kind of like I saw them last weekend. We started right back where we left off. Obviously, the environments are different, so those are different, but at the end of the day, I’ve had fun my whole career, and this is just going to reignite that spark, that fire that still was there, but it just needed some gasoline to throw on it to ignite it, and I think AEW’s gonna be that gasoline.” [H/T - WrestleTalk]
A long-awaited match for Ricochet was teased at AEW All Out
When reports and speculation regarding Ricochet heading to AEW surfaced, everyone had one thing on their mind: It was the possibility of finally getting the dream rematch between him and Will Ospreay.
At the pay-per-view last weekend, both men finally spoke to each other on-screen after Will Ospreay successfully defended his title. They hinted at a future match with each other with the title on the line, but Ospreay claimed that this would only happen once Ricochet racks in some wins.
Ricochet has only had one match since joining AEW, but now that All Out has passed, the promotion may look to build up the next set of feuds and matches heading into Grand Slam by the end of this month, and WrestleDream in October. Fans will just have to stay tuned in to find out what the former WWE Superstar's next big match will be.
