Ricochet has revealed what Triple H told him before the former left WWE for AEW. It is now clear as to why he did not sign a new deal.

The former United States Champion made his AEW debut at All In 2024. He showed up for the Casino Gauntlet match, sending the Wembley crowd into a wild frenzy. He has since been active on Dynamite and is trying to build himself up to speed in his new company.

He has now revealed his conversation with Triple H before he left WWE, and it seems there was not much enthusiasm for him to re-sign. Ricochet was speaking on the Masked Man Show when he said:

"Yeah, I think I went into it, and I think, even later, me and Triple H had a little talk, and he was like, ‘Any time, whatever,’ because I just hadn’t re-signed, and it was kind of my last time there before the time ran up. I think they knew I just wasn’t gonna do it. So I think they were just trying to give me a good out that made me…something that is open-ended. I think they wanted to leave it that way, but I think they knew it wasn’t going to happen." [H/T Fightful]

Ricochet lays down a challenge to Chris Jericho

The former WWE champion has been in AEW for less than a month and is already making a name for himself. He did have his first match with Kyle Fletcher, but he is aiming for bigger fish.

On the same episode of the Masked Man Podcast, the former WWE star called out Chris Jericho in hilarious fashion when he said:

“So me and the Danielsons and the Swerves and the PACs, before it was Ospreay and Ricochet, it was PAC and Ricochet. We were the ones lighting up the internet. Then again the Kyle Fletchers, even the Private Party, both of them, Top Flight, both of them, Darby Allin, there’s so many guys, I could go on and on. Really guys that I have wrestled and haven’t. Chris Jericho, I’ve never been in there with Chris Jericho, that’s a guy. He’s the Learning Tree, maybe I’ll chop down that tree.”

It will be interesting to see if Chris Jericho takes note of it and does something about it.
