Ricochet emerged victorious in a hard-fought match on the latest episode of AEW Collision. His opponent for the night was a decorated athlete with twelve championships to his name across various promotions.
The Human Highlight Reel has had an excellent start in the Tony Khan-led promotion since his debut at All In 2024. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion was in action this past Friday on Rampage, successfully defeating Nick Wayne before being confronted by AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita from the entrance stage.
The One and Only continued his pursuit of The Alpha's title as he took on Lio Rush this week on Collision. After a tense backstage conversation before their bout, The Blackheart warned Ricochet not to overlook him in his chase for gold. Rush put up a valiant fight against The Highlight of The Night on the Saturday night show.
The two former WWE Superstars pushed each other to the limit in their evenly-matched battle. Towards the end of the bout, Rush grabbed a steel chair in a seeming display of frustration but suffered a dropkick from Ricochet before he could enter the ring that slammed the chair against his face before eating a high-flying move from the latter.
The 36-year-old star ultimately picked up the win with his new finisher - a running elbow reminiscent of Will Ospreay's Hidden Blade.
It remains to be seen what lies next for Ricochet and when he will receive a match against Takeshita for his AEW International Championship.
