A former WWE writer has high hopes for a future blockbuster match between Ricochet and a top AEW star. The individual in question is Freddie Prinze Jr., who was talking about Will Ospreay.

Excitement surrounding prospective dream matches in AEW is at an all-time high given the star-studded roster the Jacksonville-based promotion currently lays claim to. One of the company's most important recent acquisitions was Will Ospreay, who has already put on barnburners with the likes of Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Swerve Strickland, and PAC.

The reigning International Champion has also crossed paths with the newly arrived Ricochet, who made his AEW debut at All In 2024. The two iconic high-flyers have yet to lock horns in All Elite Wrestling, although the bout may be merely a matter of time.

Speaking on the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Freddie Prinze Jr. heaped praise on Will Ospreay, complimenting his peerless in-ring abilities and voicing his excitement regarding The Aerial Assassin going toe-to-toe with Ricochet at some point down the line.

"He's just too sick at wrestling, man. Like he's just, I don't understand how I haven't seen him screw anything up yet. And if he has, he's so good that he just kind of like flowed through the screw-up, so that you don't even notice and moved on to something else. Like I've never seen the dude make a mistake, or he's so good and I'm so dumb that I can't see the mistakes. Dude, it's like watching a magician ... Everything looks so awesome and so great and now he's going to f*****g wrestle Ricochet ... These two dudes are going to put it all on the line. They're the kind of guys that can give you a match of the year." [H/T WrestlingInc.]

The Human Highlight Reel last squared off against Ospreay nearly seven years ago in 2017.

Will Ospreay will vie for additional gold in AEW

Last week on Dynamite, Will Ospreay teamed up with his long-time stable-mate Kyle Fletcher to win the Tag Team Casino Gauntlet Match and earned a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships, currently held by The Young Bucks, in the process. The two teams will clash at Dynamite: Grand Slam later this month.

Furthermore, Ospreay will partner with Fletcher and the latter's Don Callis Family team-mate Konosuke Takeshita to take on the EVPs and Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada on this week's episode of the Wednesday night show.

It remains to be seen if Will Ospreay will become a double champion in the Arthur Ashe Stadium at Grand Slam 2024.
