Ricochet is currently a free agent, and there have been rumors that he may be on the way to AEW. A former WWE Superstar recently spoke up about him wanting to bring him to another promotion. This would be AJ Francis (FKA Top Dolla).
Top Dolla had two brief stints with WWE, as he was affiliated with Hit Row. He was then released from the company in 2023. A few months later, he signed with TNA and now stands as their Digital Media Champion in his first reign.
During his recent appearances on The Angle Podcast, AJ Francis talked about Ricochet. He mentioned how he would love to put his title on the line against him. Francis then looked back at their previous matches and said he had a lot of fun.
“I would love to put this on the line against him. I think that we would have an incredible match. We had an incredible three-minute match on SmackDown, it was a lot of fun. We have the history there. Me and him are very good friends. I would love to potentially put this on the line versus Ricochet."

He then talked about how good the former United States Champion is and how, arguably, he was the greatest in-ring performer. Francis star then mentioned that, following rumors that The One and Only could go to AEW, he still wished for a chance to defend his title against him in TNA.
"We would have an absolute banger of a match. He’s so good. He’s one of the greatest, if not in my opinion, the greatest in-ring guy ever. The way he sells, the way he moves, the moves that he does, it’s undeniable. They say the rumors are he’s going to AEW, that’s what I’ve heard. They say that on the interwebs. But I would love if I got a chance to defend this against Ricochet because in my opinion, there’s nobody better,” Francis said. [H/T eWrestling News]
Another former WWE Superstar hopes to see Ricochet again
Several stars have departed from WWE or have been released within the past few months. One such name, Dijak, claimed that the company didn't sign a new deal with him. He was also spotted backstage at Forbidden Door a few weeks ago, which fueled speculation about his next destination.
While speaking to Forbes, Dijak mentioned his last conversation with Ricochet before they both left the Stamford-based promotion. Dijak thanked Ricochet for everything before mentioning that they could see each other in a few weeks or a few years.
"I was talking in the AEW backstage area with so many people that I haven't seen for such a long time, and I was telling anecdotes about how difficult it is, knowing that was the last time me and Ricochet were in the locker room together. And it was funny, we had a conversation. I thanked him for everything. I said goodbye to him and I said, ‘Hey man, I'll see you either in two weeks or five years," he said.
He may have been hinting at the two of them reuniting in AEW, seeing as they were both free agents. It remains to be seen whether Tony Khan officially signs them and brings them over to his company.
