Saraya has been absent from AEW TV for a long time. She has now shared a worrying update.

Saraya started her AEW run on a positive note. She quickly captured the AEW Women's World Championship and showed the world why she was one of the pioneers of the women's revolution in WWE. However, her dropoff has been just as quick. The past year has been anything but kind to the former Paige. She hasn't been in many major storylines and wasn't even booked in a match at All In 2024.

In fact, the former WWE star hasn't set foot in a ring since her four-way match against Willow Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, and Nyla Rose on the October 8 episode of Dynamite. Her absence has left many fans wondering about her future in the company, and now she has provided a concerning update.

California is ablaze as wildfires spread across Los Angeles County, and it looks like the former Paige is caught in the middle of it. She took to social media to say that she was safe in California but noted that this was not an ideal way to kick off the new year.

"Im safe out here in Cali, got lucky but f**k my heart hurts for everyone. What an awful, terrifying way to start the year. I hope everyone finds a safe place to go and no one else gets hurt 🙏🏻"

Saraya recalls her early days in WWE

Saraya first gained traction when after signing with WWE in 2011. A year later, she was competing at FCW, which was the development territory at that time. She quickly rose through the ranks and made her NXT debut, followed by her main roster debut. While her WWE career may have looked like smooth sailing, that wasn't the case, as she faced problems during her days in FCW but received the support of a WWE Legend.

During a recent interview with Knotfest, the former WWE star recalled that the former FCW trainer Bill DeMott wanted her to change her style and presentation, but she wanted to stick to her guns. Luckily, she was also backed by Dusty Rhodes.

“Once I got to FCW, the main trainer there tried to change the way I look too and I was so adamant about sticking to my guns when it comes to clothing and stuff. Dusty Rhodes, rest in peace, he was also an advocate for me for being like myself as well. So anytime Bill [DeMott] would tell me I need to be more divaish, I’m like, ‘Well, I didn’t get signed the first time for trying to be something different, I’m going to keep being myself.’"
