Seth Rollins recalled his reaction to a former WWE World Champion making his return in AEW and not the Stamford-based promotion. Rollins also admitted if he expected the return.
The former WWE World Champion CM Punk made his earth-shattering return to wrestling after over seven years of absence in 2021. However, he chose AEW and not the Stamford-based promotion as the place for return before eventually coming back to the Global Wrestling Juggernaut.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet of Insight, Seth Rollins recalled how he reacted when CM Punk made his AEW debut in 2021 even after joining the WWE's broadcast show a few years back:

“When he joined the broadcast team on Fox, when they were doing that Backstage show I thought to myself okay, maybe there’s an opportunity here. Then when he joined AEW I kind of thought maybe he’ll have a twilight run here. CM Punk made his long-awaited WWE return at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 Premium Live Event to a huge reaction. Seth Rollins admitted that he didn't expect Punk to return as he didn't get along with Triple H similar to Vince McMahon. Rollins said he thought it was 50/50 but more towards no:
"But the truth is he didn’t really get along with the current guy that’s in charge either. It wasn’t like they were pals as well.
