Seth Rollins suffers the same fate as top AEW star on WWE Netflix premiere

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins was defeated on RAW's Netflix premiere the same way as a top AEW star. Rollins was defeated by the same man who defeated the AEW star a few years back.

Jon Moxley is the current AEW World Champion and back in 2022, Moxley had a World title feud against CM Punk in All Elite Wrestling. The feud culminated in a match at All Out 2022 with the AEW World Championship on the line. A fan on social media recalled the aforementioned match after WWE RAW this week.

On RAW's Netflix premiere episode, Punk squared off against Seth Rollins in the main event. The match absolutely delivered and ended with Punk hitting Rollins with the GTS twice to secure the win. The finish was similar to how the Second City Saint defeated Jon Moxley at AEW All Out 2022, by hitting the GTS twice as pointed out by a fan on social media.

Therefore, Rollins suffered the same fate at the hands of CM Punk as his former Shield brother, Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose). It was definitely a nice callback moment from Punk.

WWE announcer broke kayfabe during CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins

The legendary WWE announcer, Michael Cole surprisingly broke kayfabe during the match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins to disclose a story between both of them. While on the commentary, Cole revealed the following about Punk and Rollins:

"Over 20 years ago, Colby Lopez, now known as Seth Rollins, a massive CM Punk fan, got into a car and drove from Iowa to the East Coast to try out for CM Punk's training school. Rollins blew Punk away, but he didn't have the money to continue training, so he went home and redefined himself and his craft. They would reunite briefly in NXT."

Only time will tell if the rivalry between the Second City Saint and The Visionary has concluded or if there is still something left in the story.
