WWE legend Jim Ross recently entertained the possibility of Shane McMahon signing with AEW. JR confirmed that he has had some recent phone calls with The Prodigal Son.
Shane McMahon is one of the biggest names in professional wrestling. He initially stepped into the business to help his father and former WWE President Vince McMahon on screen. However, Shane quickly stepped out of his father's shadow by giving incredible performances in the ring against the likes of Kurt Angle, Kane, Steve Blackman, and more. Shane McMahon was last seen at WrestleMania 39, where he unfortunately tore his quads during a match with The Miz.
Speaking on the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross spoke about the possibility of Shane McMahon coming over to AEW.
"Yeah, it would. It’s so crazy that it might work, depending on how it was positioned and how it was introduced. Shane called me the other day, he’s called me two or three times, which I really appreciate. He’s always been sensitive in that respect. That’s only a question that Shane could answer. Shane and Tony Khan being together, how would that work creatively, heck, who knows? Might be great. But in any event, that all depends on Shane and what he wants to do." [H/T:Fightful]

Vince Russo reveals his conversation with Shane McMahon after leaving WWE
Vince Russo served as the head writer for the WWE during the Attitude Era. However, the veteran left the promotion to join WCW in 1999. Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Russo revealed he left WWE because Vince McMahon asked him to hire a nanny for his children. He recalled explaining the reason to Shane McMahon.
"I said, 'Bro, do you know why I left?' And he said, 'Yeah, my father told me WCW paid you more money.' And I said, 'Shane, that's bulls**t.' I said, 'That had nothing to do with anything.' I said, 'I left because your father told me to hire a nanny to watch my kids.'"
Shane McMahon has not been seen in the Stamford-based promotion since WrestleMania 39. It will be interesting to see if he returns to the company in the future.
