Jon Moxley has taken up the responsibility to bring change in AEW by hook or by crook. While many seemingly disapprove of his methods on television, he has a promising vision for the organization.
The Purveyor of Violence addressed the promotion's behind-the-scenes situation in a recent interview with the New York Post. Moxley said he was tired of the underwhelming state of AEW and outlined his strategy for implementing the change.
"Everybody that’s on the top was at one time on the bottom. That’s how it works. You climb the ladder. You see a lot of frustration and confusion from some of these talents because there is no f***ing ladder. They don’t know what to do. They’re kind of just wandering in the desert. We’re gonna grab them by the shoulder and were gonna walk 'em."
Fans on X/Twitter believe Jon Moxley is right to have taken up the responsibility of being a locker room leader and guiding up-and-coming talents to success.
"I agree with him. My man has a mind for wrestling and could be the AEW’s Triple H if he wanted," a user wrote,
"Not a Mox fan, but love his mindset & attitude about the business & the production of it," a person commented.
A fan is hopeful that former WWE star Shane McMahon will also have a big hand in this revolution. For those unaware, McMahon has been rumored to join the Tony Khan-led company for months. However, nothing has come of it yet.
"This may be the single most articulate and on-point thing I’ve heard him go off about," a fan tweeted.
"AEW has no structure on how to groom their wrestlers.. what’s new," a comment read.
Moxley felt many stars in All Elite Wrestling were frustrated because of a lack of guidance. However, he was willing to mentor them and steer their careers in the right direction.
Jon Moxley justified waging a war against AEW
Upon his return in August, Jon Moxley waged a war against AEW. In the interview with the New York Post, he said this change in attitude was a necessary evil, and though his approach might seem extreme, it was the only way to bring the company back on track.
“I’m beating the s**t out of a lot of guys, you know, I’m talking a lot of s**t, but in no way am I beating up a bunch of lazy kids, like, I’m you know, Clint Eastwood on the lawn, or something like that. In no way is it like that. I’m an advocate for these people, and maybe the only guy standing up for these guys in the locker room.”
Currently, Orange Cassidy is standing in Jon Moxley's path. The two will lock horns for the World Title at Full Gear 2024.
