Jon Moxley's next challenger for the AEW World Title was decided on this week's Dynamite. The number one contender for the gold even insulted Moxley in front of his wife, Renee Paquette, on the show. Fans on social media have now reacted to the interaction.

On this week's edition of AEW Dynamite, Powerhouse Hobbs won the Casino Gauntlet match to earn a shot at the AEW World Championship. Hobbs will lock horns with The Purveyor of Violence on Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.

Following Powerhouse Hobbs' win, Renee Paquette interviewed him. During the chat, the former TNT Champion mentioned that Jon Moxley was the one who brought him to AEW. However, Hobbs claimed that he wouldn't let his past with Moxley come in the way of securing the World Title.

"Let it be told that Jon Moxley is the one that brought me to AEW. But next week, I plan on shocking the world. But not only that, I'm going to make Jon Moxley my b***h." [0:29-0:45]

Going by her reaction, Renee Paquette clearly didn't like Hobbs insulting her husband in front of her. The Dynamite segment shocked fans, and they shared their reactions to it on X/Twitter.

"She didn't like that at all," a fan wrote.

Some fans speculated that a heel turn for Paquette was inevitable. One user even wrote that the former WWE personality should have attacked Hobbs following the insult.

Paquette and Moxley started dating in 2013 and got married in 2017. However, they haven't been part of a significant storyline together on WWE or AEW TV till now.

Powerhouse Hobbs' last match before hiatus was against Jon Moxley

Powerhouse Hobbs was on hiatus for around six months in 2024. His last match before taking time off was against The One True King. He faced Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on Dynamite in April but lost. During the contest, Hobbs sustained an injury that put him on the shelf.

Hobbs returned to in-ring action in November 2024 as Ricochet's mystery partner in a match against Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher of The Don Callis Family.
