"She should never be allowed to open her mouth" - WWE legend goes off at Mercedes Mone

WWE legend Eric Bischoff is not a fan of Mercedes Mone's mic work in AEW. Mercedes is the current AEW TBS Champion.

The former Sasha Banks is one of the top female stars in AEW and won the TBS title in her in-ring debut for the promotion. She captured the NJPW Strong Women's Championship at Forbidden Door, which made her a double champ. However, her promos have been criticized by many on social media, including former WWE RAW GM Eric Bischoff.

On his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff compared her mic work at AEW to WWE. He claimed that the Stamford-based promotion knew Mone's limits and booked her under them except for giving her creative control like Tony Khan in All Elite Wrestling.

“But WWE knew how to utilize Sasha Banks’ strengths, but more importantly, WWE understood her limitations and produced her around those limitations. What does Tony Khan do? He gives her the ball and gives her creative control. For some reason, Mercedes Mone, previously Sasha Banks, feels like she’s great—she’s a great promo. One of the reasons I never heard her do promos in WWE is that WWE knew better. She cannot carry a promo; she should never be allowed to open her mouth."

He further claimed that Mercedes Mone gets devalued every time she cuts a promo in the Jacksonville-based promotion:

"Every time she opens her mouth, her stock goes down, and it’s to the point now where I don’t know if she’s worth anything. You think Kamille’s getting a rub because she came out there? By the way, did you watch the match? Of course, Mercedes. It’s all about Kamille. This is her big moment." H/T:[RingsideNews]

Eric Bischoff claims AEW CEO Tony Khan cannot refuse Mercedes Mone

In the same episode, Eric Bischoff spoke about Tony Khan giving creative control to Mercedes Mone and claimed that he is not man enough to explain to Mercedes her shortcomings. Bischoff explained why Mercedes Mone's promos are not working in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"So reportedly, she has creative control, and if that is true, she apparently thinks she can handle a lot of dialogue. She’s wrong, and Tony Khan doesn’t have the balls or the ability, or both, to say, ‘Hey Mercedes, let’s back this up a little bit.’ Because I’m a data analyst, that’s my thing. But clearly, he doesn’t have the ability to research his own data and look at his own analytics. Because if he did, he’d be going, ‘This isn’t working; she’s horrible.’ She was introduced poorly. The setup was horrible. It wasn’t horrible; it was just not effective. But when she started talking, her stock went down.”

Mercedes Mone is set to defend her TBS title against Britt Baker at All In. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top at Wembley Stadium.
