Wrestling fans have shared their reactions to the possibility of an AEW star joining WWE amid rumors that his contract will expire soon. The talent in question is Penta El Zero Miedo.
The former Pentagon Jr. has been a mainstay of AEW since its inception. His run in Tony Khan's promotion has been quite successful, including title reigns in the Tag Team and Trios divisions. However, Lucha Libre Online reported recently that Penta El Zero Miedo's All Elite Wrestling contract is due to expire between August and September of this year.
Another report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claimed that the former IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion had been unhappy about being unable to perform on shows with CMLL stars. Furthermore, the masked All Elite luchador was reportedly considering buying the rights to his name in case he decides to switch from AEW to WWE.

Penta El Zero Miedo lost an opportunity to challenge for the AEW TNT Title at Forbidden Door
Adam Copeland retained his TNT Championship against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing 2024. An elbow drop from the top of the steel cage resulted in The Rated-R Superstar suffering a fractured tibia. AEW EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson later stripped him of the championship and were going to award it to Jack Perry.
However, newly appointed interim EVP Christopher Daniels announced that the winners of several qualifier matches would compete in a ladder match for the TNT Championship at Forbidden Door 2024.
On the May 31, 2024 edition of Rampage, Penta El Zero Miedo took on Konosuke Takeshita in a hard-hitting battle to qualify for the above-mentioned ladder match. The Alpha knocked out the former World Tag Team Champion and then delivered his signature knee strike on his opponent for the victory.
It remains to be seen whether Takeshita will become the new TNT Champion at Forbidden Door 2024.
