A former WWE star has rejected a fan's proposal on social media. The star in question is Tay Melo.

Melo has been signed with AEW since 2020. She has been absent from the squared circle since last year, although she has been gearing up to make her in-ring return in recent weeks. She wrestled her last match in the Jacksonville-based promotion on the January 11, 2023, episode of Rampage, teaming with Anna Jay in an unsuccessful effort against Willow Nightingale and Ruby Soho.

Some fans often display an appalling lack of judgment and a poor understanding of boundaries in their interactions with talent. One such fan recently took to X/Twitter to share a shirtless photograph of himself addressing Tay Melo, inviting the grappler to connect with him and become friends, "or more" than that.

Melo responded to the user by reminding him that she is happily married and with a child. She also sardonically stated that she would quote the user's tweet to check if any of her friends or fans would be interested.

"Sorry buddy, I’m happily married and with a kid. I’ll quote you to see if any of my friends are interested."

Before signing with All Elite Wrestling, Melo had worked in WWE from 2017 to 2020. She appeared primarily on WWE NXT, and also competed in the 2017 and 2018 Mae Young Classic tournaments.

Sammy Guevara sent ex-WWE star Tay Melo a heartfelt message

Tay Melo began her relationship with one of AEW's "Four Pillars," Sammy Guevara, in 2022. The couple were married later that year, and in November 2023, Melo gave birth to their daughter.

The former WWE star celebrated her birthday earlier this month, and the occasion prompted a heartwarming message from Guevara. The Spanish God took to X/Twitter to express his appreciation for Melo, calling her his best friend and thanking her for her role in their family.

"To my best friend, Thank you for everything you do for me and our family. Thank you for giving us a beautiful little mini us. Rather we are traveling the world or just on our couch there is no other place I’d rather want to be than next to you! Today is for you @taymelo Happy Birthday you beautiful soul [red heart emoji]," Sammy Guevara wrote.

Guevara's post elicited a response from Melo, who wrote:

"[face holding back tears emoji x 2] I love you," Tay Melo wrote.

In their last match together as a tag team, Guevara and Melo defeated Encore and Tiara James on a wrestling show in Connecticut in March last year. The former TNT Champion had been suspended by AEW earlier this year for not following appropriate concussion protocols during a match against Jeff Hardy, although recent reports suggest that his suspension has been lifted.

It remains to be seen when Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara make their All Elite Wrestling comeback.
