Tony Khan has lately recruited many prominent stars to AEW. A former WWE champion's contract status was unclear before Clash at the Castle, with many speculating that he might join All Elite Wrestling. However, he later announced that he had re-signed with the global juggernaut. Dave Meltzer has now speculated about how Chad Gable would have been booked in AEW.
Several wrestlers have recently moved from the Tony Khan-led company to WWE, sparking a debate among fans online. Jade Cargill, Lexis King, Ethan Page, and Shawn Spears wrestled for All Elite Wrestling before joining the Stamford-based organization.
Recent reports suggested that Chad Gable's WWE contract was about to expire. Meanwhile, many fans and pro wrestling personalities began speculating whether the four-time champion would sign with AEW once his deal expired. Before Clash at the Castle, Gable confirmed that he would remain with the global juggernaut.
On the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed how All Elite Wrestling would have booked the Alpha Academy member if he signed with the company. Meltzer said Gable would have worked with top names like Kazuchika Okada in the Tony Khan-led promotion.
The journalist further compared the WWE RAW Superstar to PAC and mentioned that the former was thriving in the global juggernaut.
"Probably closer to PAC, which is someone who's somewhat protected, but if you compare - PAC's a super wrestler, they respect him, they don't beat him like a drum or anything like that, but PAC and Chad, who's doing better right now, who's getting more TV time, who's more in the mix, it's Chad by a landslide, so there you go," Meltzer said. Gable has been part of World Wrestling Entertainment since 2013. Over the past decade, he has won the NXT, RAW, and SmackDown Tag Team championships.
WWE veteran berates Tony Khan over MJF's return storyline
Tony Khan was recently called out by Dutch Mantell for his booking of MJF in AEW. The Salt of the Earth returned to the Jacksonville-based company at Double or Nothing 2024. He is now in a feud with Rush and will face him on the upcoming episode of Dynamite.
On an episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the WWE veteran criticized the MJF-Rush storyline. He said the former AEW World Champion should have been booked in a high-profile angle upon his comeback.
"I saw MJF's return, it wasn't anything to it. Nothing really happened. That's when they should have busted the big angle," Mantell said.

It remains to be seen whether MJF can defeat Rush on Dynamite after their heated exchange on last week's Dynamite.
