A major AEW star has returned to action after a notable absence. The name in question is none other than Anna Jay.

The 26-year-old took some time off from AEW competition to wrestle in Japan in Stardom's 5 Star Grand Prix tournament. She had a strong showing however, failed to reach the knockout stage. Anna Jay has returned to All Elite Wrestling and has had her first match since teaming up with Harley Cameron and Saraya in a losing effort against Mariah May, Mina Shirakawa, and Toni Storm on the June 26, edition of Dynamite.

On the recent tapings of Friday's AEW Rampage from Springfield, Massachusetts, Anna Jay made her return to in-ring action where she defeated Robyn Renegade.

AEW star Anna Jay would fit in WWE according to Konnan

Anna Jay signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2020 and has had little success in the Tony Khan-led promotion. She recently had a great run in Japan, wrestling in Stardom's 5 Star Grand Prix 2024 tournament which could impact her creative direction in All Elite Wrestling.

In an edition of his Keepin' It 100 podcast earlier this year, Konnan claimed that Anna Jay could become a major player under Triple H's leadership if she signs with WWE. The veteran said that Anna Jay has all the tools to become a huge star and mentioned Jade Cargill as an example.

"Yeah, there's a couple of people there that I think would do better in WWE and she's one of them. And I don't think she has heat because of the [Jack] Perry thing. It's just normal non-sensical AEW's what I would call it. But yeah, she has everything to be a huge star and her value is not going up staying there. Look at how fast they made Jade [Cargill] a star over there," he said. [22:36 - 23:03]

It will be interesting to see if Anna Jay manages to compete for some championship gold in All Elite Wrestling later this year.
