A top AEW star announced he will be present on a major show. Daniel Garcia recently wanted to attend NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi's show. The reigning TNT Champion is AEW's up-and-rising star and has wrestled in great matches in the company.
The Ace recently announced that he will retire at Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4, 2026, at the Tokyo Dome. He was among the top stars in NJPW and wrestled memorable matches throughout his career. Fans have been emotional as their favorite star is set to hang up his boots. He and Kastuyori Shibata wrestled in a time-limit draw at the Wrestle Dynasty show.
NJPW is also announcing huge matches for his retirement tour in 2025. Recently, the Japan-based promotion announced that the NJPW President will be scheduled to wrestle in the Windy City Riot event held in Chicago.
After the major announcement, Daniel Garcia claimed he would attend the event to support The Ace.
"I will be there no matter what," he wrote.
Daniel Garcia and Hiroshi Tanahashi wrestled in a non-AEW event
The current TNT Champion was mostly featured on Tony Khan's second promotion, Ring of Honor, in 2023. He wrestled in great technical bouts with stars like Kastuyori Shibata, Christopher Daniels, and Rocky Romero. In the same year, he faced the legendary Hiroshi Tanahashi.
At the 2023 ROH Supercard of Honor, Daniel Garcia lost to the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion in a thrilling contest. Apart from that, they wrestled as a team in May 2024. The duo aligned with Claudio Castagnoli and defeated the Righteous and Lance Archer on AEW Collision.
It will be interesting to see if the duo ever cross paths together before the NJPW President bids goodbye to his pro wrestling career.
