Britt Baker showed up on AEW Dynamite 250 sporting a disguise to trick her rival Mercedes Mone. Her get-up on the episode has elicited a response from Sting.

The feud between Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker was sparked off by the latter's return interrupting The CEO's post-match victory celebration at Forbidden Door 2024. The former AEW Women's World Champion has challenged Mone to a TBS Title match at All In 2024, but the latter has not yet officially accepted the bout, seemingly eager to avoid any kind of physicality with The Doctor.

The former Sasha Banks defended her TBS Championship against Nyla Rose on the 250th episode of Dynamite. After the match, she aggressively destroyed a sign that claimed Britt Baker's superiority over her, carried by a fan in a Sting mask. The fan, however, shoved Mercedes down to the floor and took off their mask to reveal herself as Baker. The Doctor proceeded to jump the barricade and try to engage Mone, but the reigning NJPW Strong Women's Champion escaped her grasp as security separated the two.

The Pennsylvania native's strategy for outsmarting Mone was borrowed from the playbook of the legendary Sting, as the latter used it several times in his career to gain an advantage against his rivals. The Icon recently reacted to Britt Baker's sneak attack on Mone on this week's episode of Dynamite with a four-word message on X:

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"It's Showtime for D.M.D. [scorption emoji][fist emoji] @RealBrittBaker," wrote Sting.

AEW Dynamite 250 featured another tribute to Sting

A blockbuster battle between Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland took place in the main event of the July 17, 2024 episode of Dynamite. The match unfortunately ended in a disqualification after The Young Bucks attacked Strickland, who is set to lead Team AEW against The Elite in the 2024 Blood and Guts match next week.

The Acclaimed would promptly arrive to make the save for Strickland. This led TNT Champion Jack Perry and then ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe to join the fray. After Swerve took out The Scapegoat with a House Call, he would find himself facing down his arch-enemy, Hangman Adam Page. Both men were pulled out of the ring by their rival teammates before they could come to blows, however.

Finally, after multiple teases regarding his appearance on the show, Darby Allin made his presence felt in the arena, descending from the rafters like his former tag team partner, Sting. The former TNT Champion leaped into battle against The Elite, seemingly joining Team AEW as its fifth member.

Notably, Darby Allin was Sting's partner in the latter's very last match at Revolution 2024, where they defended the AEW World Tag Team Titles against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. It remains to be seen if The Stinger will play a role in Blood and Guts 2024 next week on Dynamite.
