AEW produced a massive sendoff for wrestling legend Sting at this year's Revolution pay-per-view in March. The 65-year-old officially retired from in-ring competition after teaming up with Darby Allin to defeat The Young Bucks. And he's now set to make an appearance at a major event.

The legend has been quiet since his successful defense of the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Revolution 2024. While many fans have been hoping that he'll remain involved in All Elite Wrestling, he seems to be making the most of his time away from television.

Even so, The Icon still engages with his fans online and at major events, and he's set to make an appearance at this year's Washington State Summer Con. Sting is scheduled to be at the convention on Sunday, June 23, where he will sign autographs and chat with fans.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion took to X (formerly Twitter) with a message for fans attending the event.

"See you Sunday, Washington State! 👊🏼🦂," he wrote.

Washington State Summer Con 2024 will be held at the Washington State Fair and Events Center in Puyallup, WA. This year's edition will also feature WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and AEW's Anna Jay.

Sting's son is training to become a wrestler

Sting is a legend in the wrestling business, but his two sons chose not to follow in their father's footsteps. Until now, that is.

The Icon's sons, Garrett and Steven Borden Jr., joined their father as part of his last angle in the lead-up to AEW Revolution 2024. The two were involved in a brutal beatdown with The Young Bucks and also played a part in the legend's final match, where they dressed as previous incarnations of the WWE Hall of Famer.

Borden Jr. seemingly enjoyed being in the ring so much that he is now reportedly training to become a wrestler. His dedication impressed fans when it was revealed that he was sleeping in a tent in Darby Allin's yard while training.

Vince Russo, who worked with The Icon in WCW, addressed Steven's potential on a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws and said that it was going to be difficult for Borden Jr. considering who his father was. He also noted that he'd have to do something very unique to step away from his legendary father's shadow.

"That's really tough, bro, because you don't wanna put him in a situation where he's gotta follow his father's footsteps. It just ain't happening, bro. So that's gonna be very, very, very difficult. It's gonna be something so different and so unique than what Sting was," said Russo.

Steven Borden Jr. is a former college football player and has shown his athletic prowess in the ring, wowing fans with his gravity-defying Stinger Splash. He dressed as the 'nWo Wolfpac' version of his father at AEW Revolution 2024.
