A popular AEW star recently compared Sting and The Undertaker as he revealed which of the two he was a fan of growing up. He also talked about how his first meeting with the former went during their time working together in AEW.

Ricky Starks was arguably on the run of his career before his hiatus from the promotion. He feuded with the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, FTR, Darby Allin, and The Icon. He began a run as AEW World Tag Team Champion with Big Bill for three months, and the duo ended up dropping these to Sting and Allin back in February.

While appearing on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Ricky Starks spoke about getting the chance to work with the veteran. He revealed that he did not grow up watching the WWE Hall of Famer as he was a fan of The Undertaker. However, upon meeting him, he mentioned how the face-painted legend had a very collected demeanor.

"I didn't grow up as a Sting fan, I didn't grow up watching WCW, I was an Undertaker fan. I'll never forget Sting coming in and meeting him — he was so nice and so sweet — and he's very collected."

Starks talked about his time working with The Stinger and how he was the type of person who was approachable and understanding.

"Sting will forever hold a place in my heart," Starks said. "He, out of anybody, you could go to and talk to and he was understanding." [H/T WrestlingInc.]

Sting was recently spotted with two AEW stars at a convention

The Hall of Famer was recently spotted at a convention linking up with two other popular face-painted names in AEW. These would be his mentee, Darby Allin, and Danhausen.

On X/Twitter, Danhausen shared a photo he took with the two at a recent event by Highspots, and it looked as if they were having a family photo, as the face-painted stars of the industry.

"Family photo with Cousin Darby & Uncle Stinger 🛹🦷🦂"

It has been almost nine months since The Icon's official retirement from the wrestling world, but it seems he will never leave the industry for good. At AEW All In back in August, he made a brief appearance to save Darby from The Elite. Apart from this, he has kept up appearances at wrestling-related events.
