A WWE Hall of Famer was not a fan of the controversial spot at AEW All Out between Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson. The name in question is Teddy Long.

At the All Out 2024 PPV event, Bryan Danielson was shockingly taken out by the Blackpool Combat Club after his AEW World Title defense against Jack Perry. Claudio turned on Danielson, hitting a brutal uppercut, with Moxley following the attack by suffocating him with a plastic bag. The American Dragon has been absent from television since however, if he's able to get cleared, Danielson is scheduled to face Nigel McGuinness at Grand Slam.

In the recent edition of Sportskeeda's Exclusive, The Wrestling Time Machine podcast with Mac Davis, former SmackDown general manager Teddy Long shared his thoughts on the plastic bag spot from All Out. He made it clear that it wasn't professional wrestling:

"That's not pro wrestling." [4:08-onwards]

The veteran further noted how it could lead to children implementing the move at home as they can't differ if the spot is real or fake. Teddy said that he respects Bryan and Moxley but questioned who's giving the green signal in AEW to do these spots at the last minute:

"I don't really know what to say like they're trying to do something that nobody else has done to gain attention and maybe also to capture the audience. Right at the beginning, you can't put a plastic bag over someone's head when you got kids watching. They don't know if it was real or not.I have a lot of respect for Jon Moxley and Daniel Bryan [Bryan Danielson]. I love both of those guys, I had the opportunity to work with both of them and I have the utmost respect for them. But, you know I don't understand who's making the last decision on stuff." Bill Apter also spoke about the controversial spot at AEW All Out 2024

AEW All Out is in the history books and many veterans like Eric Bischoff, Teddy Long, and more have slammed the promotion for doing the controversial spots.

In the same video, Sportskeeda's Senior Editor Bill Apter also shared his thoughts on Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley's spot and stated that kids are watching the All Elite Wrestling pay-per-views. He shared how he once jokingly did the spot in front of his granddaughter:

"Number one, you have kids watching this on pay-per-view, and my 7-year-old granddaughter, Lucy knows not to put a plastic bag over someone's head. I did that once joking and she goes, 'Pop stop, you'll die'." [5:33 - 5:52]

It will be interesting to see if AEW reacts to the backlash and tones down the hardcore stuff during unsanctioned matches.
