MJF recently cut a promo where he seemingly copied The Rock. A WWE legend has called him out on it.

MJF is one of the best heels in the professional wrestling business today and has been this way for a while now. He got his big break in AEW where he captivated audiences with his mic skills which led him to become one of the top stars in the company and even the industry.

However, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has not been in contention for the AEW World Championship for the past year. This has been due to his long feud with Adam Cole. The two men finally faced each other at Worlds End, and The Devil came out on top. Following the match, Friedman cut a promo backstage in which he noted that this chapter of his life was finally over. He also indicated that he wanted to get back the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley.

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long addressed this promo on a recent episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine with host Mac Davis where he criticized Maxwell for copying The Rock because he used the word 'finally' and said it two times.

"Well, the promo was good but I think you got to watch what you say. I saw him saying, 'Finally! Finally!' Well, everybody knows that's The Rock's thing. So, you don't want to make people start thinking you're trying to imitate somebody else or saying what somebody else said. So, I mean maybe one 'Finally' would've been good but he kept saying 'em like you know what I mean. So, you don't want to do that because he don't need to mock anybody like that. I mean he can talk and do the promos on his own. He's just that good but other than that, I thought it was really good." [2:54 - 3:25]

Bill Apter, on the other hand, praised Maxwell's promo skills and even called it terrific.

"He was so fired up and so bloody. I didn't catch what Teddy caught with the 'Finallys' there but he's such a great promo and I don't remember any dirty words coming out which he usually does throw into those things. I thought it was terrific." [3:30 - 3:51]

MJF is unhappy with Jeff Jarrett after their segment on AEW Dynamite

On the January 1 episode of Dynamite, Jeff Jarrett announced to the world that he had signed his last contract as an active competitor. He also mentioned that he wanted to win the AEW World Championship before his retirement.

Last week on Dynamite, Jeff Jarrett reflected on his career. This time, he was interrupted by MJF who offered to help him win the AEW World Championship in exchange for the first shot at the title. Jarrett refused his offer which did not make the former AEW World Champion happy. Following this segment, The Salt of the Earth took to social media to say that he wouldn't tolerate disrespect from anyone.

"I won’t tolerate disrespect from someone so beneath me."

Check out his tweet here:

It will be interesting to see if MJF will be able to overcome Jon Moxley and the Death Riders to regain the AEW World Championship.
