A former WWE star recently spoke about his release. He also indicated that he is ready to join AEW.
Sawyer Fulton first gained recognition for his time in WWE's developmental program between 2012 and 2017. He was also one of the original members of SAnitY along with Nikki Cross, Erik Young, and Alexander Wolfe. However, his run with the stable didn't last long as he was soon released from his contract and replaced by Killian Dain. However, his release only motivated him to get better.
During a recent interview on the Developmentally Speaking podcast, Sawyer Fulton said that getting released by the Stamford-based promotion was a tough pill to swallow but he deserved to be fired since he wasn't ready. He also said that he is ready for anything TNA or AEW could throw at him:
"It is a tough pill to swallow, watching especially one of your dreams fall apart in front of you. I get a lot of comments from people telling me, 'WWE dropped the ball with you.' In my mind, no, they didn't. The guy that they fired deserved to be fired. The guy that they let go wasn't ready for everything that was coming at him. The man that I am now is more than enough for anything that they could put me through, anything that TNA could put me through, anything that AEW could put me through. [H/T Fightful]
Sawyer Fulton said he wouldn't be the person he is today if WWE didn't fire him
It's never easy to get fired from your dream job. At the same time, this setback would be enough to break someone's spirit. Fulton took it in his stride and worked even harder to hone his craft. Since his release, he has worked for various promotions such as Major League Wrestling and Impact Wrestling.
During the same interview, Fulton credits his WWE release for turning him into the wrestler he is today. He now believes he can put on the best match on any card across the country:
"I know I can put on matches across this country, Canada, Mexico. Anywhere I go. I know I'm going to be able to put on the best match of that card. I'm going to be able to be something that no one else sees, a huge physical presence, more athletic, more powerful, more crazy, and and intense than anybody's even ready for. I don't think I would be that man if WWE hadn't let me go." [H/T Fightful]
It will be interesting to see if Sawyer Fulton will make it back to World Wrestling Entertainment in the future.
