The Hurt Syndicate came to AEW to attain huge success and glory. Following the start of this week's dynamite, their explosive announcement might have just set the tone for them in the new year.

During the January 8 edition of AEW Dynamite, Private Party members Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen were in celebratory mode. This was after they defended their world tag team titles last week on the first episode of Collision in 2025 against Lio Rush and Action Andretti.

The entrance ramp was set up with a VIP area and bottles of champagne, alongside beautiful women to accompany the AEW World Tag Team Champions. However, the celebrations were quickly interrupted by the arrival of The Hurt Syndicate.

The trio of MVP and his clients, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, joined Private Party in their VIP area. In a surprising moment, they raised a toast to their success as the champions but quickly made it about them when Lashley claimed that the toast was actually to The Hurt Syndicate becoming future AEW World Tag Team Champions, hinting at a potential future title match against Private Party.

After dropping this explosive announcement, The Hurt Syndicate walked Bobby Lashley to the ring for his match against Mark Briscoe. Private Party was left in shock, which could be a sign of them acknowledging a serious threat to their reign already as the AEW World Tag Team Champions.
