The Young Bucks consists of brothers Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, who currently hold the coveted AEW World Tag Team Championship. Furthermore, they are the Jacksonville-based promotion's co-founders and executive vice presidents.
The duo won the titles mentioned above at the Dynasty pay-per-view in April of this year. Their opponents were FTR and both teams were battling to procure the vacant belts in a ladder match. Ever since becoming champions, not once have they defended their titles. Long-time fans are evidently baffled and frustrated by this occurrence
On the latest episode of The Bryan and Vinny Show, prominent wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez opened up about this issue. He stated that fans shouldn't be angered by Matt and Nick because the final booking decisions are made by none other than the company's co-owner Tony Khan. Furthermore, he compared The Young Bucks' Tag Team Title run with Brock Lesnar's title runs in WWE from a few years back.
"Listen everybody, if you think The Young Bucks book their own stuff? They don’t. If you’re upset about the Bucks not being on TV and not defending their Tag Team Titles, there’s one person you can be upset at and that’s Tony Khan," Alvarez said.

He added:
"I don’t know, but it’s not The Young Bucks deciding, ‘Hey, we’re gonna take the summer off and not defend the Tag Team Titles.’ Remember when people got mad at Brock Lesnar for not showing up, it was like Brock was calling his shots. He had X number of dates, they didn’t want to pay him for extended periods of time, so they told him to stay home.”
The Young Bucks' career achievements
Matthew and Nicholas Jackson have wrestled in several promotions across the world, however, they are best known for their time in NJPW and ROH.
In the two promotions mentioned above, they have won titles such as the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, IWGP Tag Team Championship, NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship, ROH World Tag Team Championship, and more.
