The Young Bucks recently reacted to the infamous CM Punk-Jack Perry altercation from All In 2023, which led to Punk's termination and Perry's lengthy suspension.
AEW Executive Vice Presidents Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson were involved in airing the backstage footage on Dynamite last week; a decision that did not go over well with fans and wrestlers. Perry has been in NJPW for a few months but is rumored to return to his home company with the new heel persona.
The Young Bucks spoke to Sports Illustrated this week, and the author pointed to how Jungle Boy received a massive ovation at the NJPW Windy City Riot in Chicago last week, and how there was no limit to his ceiling in AEW if these reactions continue.
Nick Jackson agreed with the praise and said the 26-year-old had been AEW's next breakout star for some time. Referring to Perry's infamous altercation with The Second City Saint last year, Jackson added the AEW ''just needed something controversial to happen to him'' to gain people's attention.

"He's [Jack Perry] been the next breakout star for a while now, and he just needed something controversial to happen to him to open people's eyes. It happened with us early on in our careers, too," Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks said.
Meanwhile, Matt Jackson revealed how he discovered Jack Perry besides narrating his backstory. Jackson also claimed that Perry ''now had that edge and swagger.''
"Jack Perry was one of my original AEW hires. I saw a video clip of him on the indies, and then I went and watched everything I could find. Years prior, I’d heard stories about a nine-year-old boy being brought to wrestling training in Southern California by his celebrity dad, Luke Perry. I wondered, whatever happened to that kid? Apparently, he’d been working hard and turning into a heck of a talent. Coming back from Japan, Jack Perry now has that edge and swagger. And coming off all of this BS he’s been dealing with, he has a chip on his shoulder," Matt Jackson said.
Matt added that the current version of Perry was a "dangerous cat'' following the controversy last year. The All Elite EVP then predicted Perry would "blow up" after he returns to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
