A former WWE Superstar proposed an angle that would see The Young Bucks being stripped of their powers as AEW EVPs. The talent in question is Aiden English.

The Young Bucks re-structured The Elite earlier this year, firing Kenny Omega and replacing him with his NJPW rival Kazuchika Okada. They also added a returning Jack Perry to the stable, and the self-proclaimed Scapegoat solidified his alliance by helping The Jackson Brothers brutalize AEW President Tony Khan in April on Dynamite. The group took out Omega a week later and has been running roughshod over the All Elite roster since then.

The New Elite recently defeated the team of Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, and FTR in a brutal Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2024. Claiming that their victory did not secure the locker room's respect, Nicholas Jackson challenged the best of the AEW roster to face them in the 2024 edition of Blood and Guts next month.

On the latest episode of the Rebooked Wrestling Podcast, former WWE Superstar Aiden English discussed the storyline feud between The Elite and the Tony Khan-led company. He suggested that the angle of The Elite's conflict with the All Elite Wrestling locker room should lead to The Young Bucks losing their executive powers. Merely being defeated by a team of AEW stars would logically not matter to the heel faction if they continue to hold influence in the company.

"I think you gotta strip The Young Bucks of power. It's corny, I know because they already said that they have 'iron-clad contracts' as part of their storyline, right? It's a little corny, but I think you're right, I think you do need something tangible. I think you're just, like, fighting. If the good guys win, it's a victory for the good guys. But [if] the bad guys still have power, then it's for naught." [21:20 - 21:45]

English further proposed that Tony Khan could put his position on the line to raise the stakes in his program with The Elite.

"So I don't know, get me some extra dressed up as a lawyer, and you know, 'We found some legalese...' Or what you do is you tempt your bad guys with even more power. So now there's stakes on both sides, right? (...) 'We're not gonna sign anything over. We're not going to agree to a match that gives up...' But what if Tony says, 'Fine, Blood and Guts if you guys win, I'm out. You get all my shares of AEW, you run it, lock, stock and barrel. But if my guys win... you are stripped of your positions as EVPs within this company." [21:47 - 22:37]

The Elite will be in action on AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024

The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada confronted The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn for disrespecting The Elite on the June 26, 2024 episode of Dynamite. They challenged the former AEW World Trios Champions to a bout at Forbidden Door 2024.

Gunn responded that while he would have loved to fight The Elite, he had a different individual in mind to team up with Max Caster and Anthony Bowens. The talent in question was NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi, who called out his old rival, Okada, in a pre-aped promo and revealed that he would join The Acclaimed to fight The Rainmaker and The Elite.

It remains to be seen which side will win at Forbidden Door this Sunday.
