WWE recently launched a unique development program that aims to provide a platform for up-and-coming independent talents and a potential in-ring career in the company. This program is called 'WWE ID', whose full form is WWE Independent Development™.
A few names who have signed up for this program are Bryce Donovan, Zayda Steel, Ice Williams, Zara Zakher, and more. Recently, it was reported that former AEW wrestler Kylie Rae also signed for ID. The 32-year-old had a short stint in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Almost a year ago, there were allegations of sexual misconduct against Chris Jericho. Interestingly, Rae seemingly confirmed these rumors. However, she never openly spoke about them.
Fans online gave positive reactions to the former All Elite Wrestling star signing with World Wrestling Entertainment's development program. They said that she deserved immense success and also took shots at Y2J.
New WWE ID signing Kylie Rae recently celebrated three years of sobriety
Kylie Rae has been quite open about her struggles with substance abuse. Recently, she celebrated three years of sobriety in October.
In a 2023 interview with The Wrestling Perspective podcast, she candidly spoke about her issues and how therapy has immensely helped her.
"I’ve always kind of struggled with throughout my life, continuing my sobriety. I go to therapy every other week. I am continuing that as well. It helped me. I will be honest, if this was a year ago, I don’t know if I would have been able to hop on a call with you all. So that’s how much my anxiety would really affect me. So that’s progress, right? So just progressing every day," said the 32-year-old. [H/T: Wrestling Headlines]
Rae is engaged to professional wrestler, Isaias Velazquez. Together they have a child.
