Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette has always held strong views with regard to wrestling, especially AEW. The 62-year-old has now opened up about the Mariah May-Toni Storm feud in the company.

The current AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm and Mariah May had been partnering up for several months but recently, the latter brutally attacked the former and left her bleeding. Fans were unsurprisingly shocked at the visual because not only was Storm bleeding profusely, but May even licked the blood off her. The heel turn was not expected by many and it came as a genuine surprise to both fans and critics.

During a recent episode of Jim Cornette's Drive Thru, the former manager criticized AEW for the manner in which Mariah May turned heel on Dynamite earlier this month. Cornette was appalled by the Tony Khan-led company's decision to do something like this because they are trying to renew their TV deal and are actively searching for affluent sponsors.

According to him, the aforementioned segment was unnecessary and simply, bad for business. He further stated that the Jacksonville promotion is going to be in a bad spot from a business perspective for the Mariah May-Toni Storm segment.

"From a business standpoint, holy f*ck. If they're in a position where girls getting color on TV will make a significant impact on their overall business enough to justify the risk of potential sponsor and TV backlash, they they are in a pretty s*itty spot," said Cornette [From 5:28 to 5:53]

He further stated that he was unsure if Tony Khan informed TBS that May was going to lick the blood of Storm's head.

In the same podcast, Cornette said that he was shocked to see AEW approve a segment so disturbing on cable TV, which airs at 10 o'clock in the USA.

"They actually went so hard in that effort as to have one girl cut herself in the head with a razor blade and have the other girl lick the blood off of her on national cable TV in the USA at 10 o'clock on an Eastern time," said Jim Cornette. [From 0:13 to 0:30]
