Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently addressed a backstage incident that happened in AEW. According to him, people of authority within the promotion need to get together and take some quick action.
About two and a half weeks ago, it was reported that Britt Baker and MJF got into a heated situation backstage. After all of this, Baker was suspended for a week from the promotion. It was later revealed that there were several other names also involved in the situation, including MJF's girlfriend Alicia Atout, and Will Ospreay.
On a recent edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed the incident and admitted that he thought all of this was a work as he felt that suspensions were a common thing within the company. He could not understand why they resulted in suspending people, instead of firing those who committed misconduct.
“I didn’t know if that was work or if they were… Because the da*n thing is this, so many people get suspended in AEW. They don’t get fired. They just get suspended. What is the deal with this suspension thing? They need to start firing some people to start making some example. You get suspended. That mean you coming back? I got suspended in school every month.”

The veteran also wanted to see more firings as it was something he did not see often. This could set an example for future situations like such. He talked about later on how they needed to show a sense of authority.
“Suspensions can work, I think. But my thing is this: They’re gonna have to start firing some people sooner. That’s one thing I haven’t heard as far as AEW. I’ve heard a couple of people got let go, but I haven’t heard anybody that has been, just say, fired.” [H/T - EWrestlingNews]
There is concern within AEW over some recent happenings
Over the past few months, there has been a series of controversies and less-desired situations within the company.
Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported about how some names within the company had some concerns over issues with attendance and ratings that they have been going through recently.
However, despite all this, the company has still kept a united front, even though there have been some backstage disputes such as the recent one between MJF and Britt Baker.
AEW has a tall task ahead as they will be putting on their biggest show of the year next week, with their return to Wembley Stadium for AEW All In. Seeing as they have had success with their recent pay-per-views, this has the potential to surpass the recent ones.
