AEW has re-signed The Young Bucks to new deals. Details on the fresh contracts were just leaked today, and they have shocked many within the industry. The reveal has led to scathing reactions from fans loyal to AEW and WWE.
Matt and Nick Jackson have been two of Tony Khan's Executive Vice Presidents since day one. They are also the current World Tag Team Champions and in their third reign. It was previously revealed that The Bucks and EVP Kenny Omega had signed new deals last year, but a reduced schedule for Matt and Nick led to fan speculation on their All Elite Wrestling status.
It was revealed today by The Wrestling Observer that the new contracts for The Bucks were for fewer dates, allowing them to take multiple days off. The recent absence of both brothers was agreed to a few months in advance. Furthermore, the leaders of The New Elite will be on Dynamite most weeks between now and the end of December, but they will miss several 2024 episodes due to the number of dates remaining.
The wrestling world has had varying reactions to The Young Bucks' contract terms, but most appear to be seemingly negative. Many fans called on the 20-year industry veterans to drop the World Tag Team Championship, while others said this reflected their loss of relevance.

"AEW is better when they are not on tv," wrote another fan.
Some reactions seemed hopeful that the fewer dates meant more behind-the-scenes work, while others speculated on what this means for their AEW job titles. While some even reiterated how this development made The Bucks part-timers, others name-dropped Roman Reigns in their reactions.
You can read a few of those reactions below:
"Punk said in the Hawani podcast was right. All the guys wanna do in AEW that company is work less dates, wrestle less and do pre recorded segments. He was right. The funny thing is, AEW marks trashed Roman for working less dates when their favourites are doing the same thing," a fan commented.
"Aren't they SVPs still? If so, you would think they would be there every week regardless of if they are on TV. Sounds more and more like the SVP titles are in name only now," a fan wondered.
AEW Collision to decide All In challengers for The Young Bucks
All Elite Wrestling has confirmed that The Young Bucks would defend the World Tag Team Championship at All In. Their challengers will be decided on Saturday's live Collision episode airing from Arlington, TX.
Saturday's Collision will feature FTR vs. The Acclaimed in a number-one contender's match. The winner will advance to All In to challenge Matt and Nick Jackson, but there was speculation on officials possibly going with a Triple Threat bout for the decider.
The Bucks defended against The Acclaimed on Dynamite this past week, but the match ended in controversy with interference from FTR. The number-one contender's match was then announced for Collision.
