The AEW status of Kamille has been up in the air for several weeks after a falling out with Mercedes Moné. Sources have just revealed an unfortunate update on the former NWA star's future, and while the news surprised many, the reactions from die-hard fans are very telling. The majority of feedback puts the blame on Tony Khan, while others are predicting another big acquisition for WWE.
The Brickhouse signed with AEW in February after making her name in the NWA, where she had an 812-day reign as World Women's Champion. Kamille did not debut until late July as the bodyguard to Moné. Her five-match streak ended with a loss to Kris Statlander in October, right before Statlander's Full Gear loss to the former Sasha Banks.
At the pay-per-view, Mercedes forced Kamille to stay backstage as punishment for the loss, but the next Dynamite saw the 32-year-old quit her gig with Moné before the champ could fire her. Rumors began to swirl about her future, and this week, it was reported that Kamille may be done with the company.
The former NWA World Women's Champion remains on the AEW roster and is believed to still be under contract, but the possibility of such a prospect being done with All Elite Wrestling already, after no real creative direction, came as a shock to many in the business. However, a majority of reactions from fans show that the Kamille situation is seen as par for the course in AEW by many. Tony Khan was once again blamed for how her run has been botched.
Fans drowned out a popular wrestler with 'She's a racist' chants recently
You can see a few of those reactions below:
"Too bad Tony has already used the company takeover angle to death. He could have put together a pretty bad a*s stable with all of the talent he pays to stay home or in catering every week," wrote one fan.
The other reactions varied, but one common narrative concerns WWE potentially signing Kamille after there was interest in the past. Several fans also speculated that the North Carolina native could be punished for a recent social media post, while others dismissed the rumors altogether.
Below are a few of those reactions:
"Release her and then let old HBK get her to her true potential over in NXT," one fan commented.
"After she publicly declared her pro-life stance, everything declined. Unfortunately, we live in a time when people are punished for having differing opinions, unless that opinion is currently trending. Hopefully she gets used because a talent like hers shouldn't be wasted. She has it all," wrote another viewer.
