According to veteran Tommy Dreamer, two top stars and former champions in AEW ought to consider a career in a significant backstage role. The individuals being alluded to by Dreamer, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, are currently involved in a major angle in the Tony Khan-led promotion.

Since their debut in All Elite Wrestling in 2020, FTR have risen to the pinnacle of the company's tag team division. The duo has held the AEW World Tag Team Championship twice, and has participated in barnburners against teams like The Young Bucks, The Bang Bang Gang, The House of Black and The BCC, to name a few.

The Top Guys recently teamed up with fellow Asheville-resident Adam Copeland to take on Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta on Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen earlier this month. Discussing the star-studded bout on Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer complimented Harwood and Wheeler for their in-ring proficiency, which he partly attributed to their development in WWE. Dreamer also suggested that the two men would do well as wrestling trainers.

"If I could put over FTR I would like to say one thing, I think they would make amazing trainers," Dreamer said. "There is a difference, and this isn't a slight on anybody, but I was watching–they're always putting themselves in the right position, which is key, and that is a big WWE thing. From their training, and it's no wasted movement, everything happening in the middle, always being in the right spot for the bump and the feed, and even like Wheeler Yuta hanging out with this crew, his work has so increased, and I love seeing Wheeler Yuta out there performing. It's a different style, but I'm like 'god those two guys would be perfect trainers.'" [H/T - Wrestling Inc]

One half of FTR has a big match on AEW Collision

Adam Copeland and FTR followed up on their victory over Jon Moxley and his crew with another trios win against Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith and Big Bill on the first Collision of 2025. The babyface alliance's rivalry with The Learning Tree continues this week as Dax Harwood is set to go one-on-one against The Nueve this Saturday.

Furthermore, it has been announced that Copeland will take on Big Bill in singles action on the upcoming edition of AEW Collision. It remains to be seen if The Rated-R Superstar will succeed at chopping down The Redwood.
