Former AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm called out a WWE Hall of Famer for an in-ring showdown. Storm has been mentioning the veteran for the past few months as well.
The WWE Hall of Famer in question is Wendi Richter. Wendi had been quite active in the pro wrestling scene in the 1980s when she performed on major promotions such as WWE and NWA among others. Richter wrestled her last match in 2005 at the WrestleReunion 2 event.
Interestingly, the former AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm has called out Wendi Richter multiple times through interviews and press conferences. Wendi recently responded to Storm during a Highspots virtual signing a few months ago stating the following:
"I didn't even know she had been calling me out. Someone told me she's been doing it on a regular basis. Well, money does talk. If they can cough up enough money, I'd take her on. I'd even give her the first swing. Bring it, Toni. You think you can beat me? I'd like to see it. I'm not afraid," Wendi stated.
Meanwhile, Toni Storm sent a message to Wendi during Sign-it-Live for Highspots stating that she will see Richter in the ring soon enough:
"Yes, so I’ve heard. About bloody time you spoke up Wendi Richter. I will meet you in the squared circle soon enough, you b*tch. I’ll slap your t*ts off," Toni said.
Toni Storm has not been on TV since AEW All In
At the All In 2024 event, Toni Storm defended her AEW Women's World Title against Mariah May. After a great story-driven match, Mariah May managed to dethrone Storm and become the new champion. Following her loss, Toni has yet to appear on television for the past two weeks.
Moreover, only time will tell what Tony Khan has in store for Storm after her Women's World Title loss at All In.
