Former AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm's upcoming match with a former WWE star has been postponed. The match was set to take place at a major event this weekend.
The former WWE star in the conversation is La Catalina. The 24-year-old star was a part of the Stamford-based promotion from 2019 to 2021 where she wrestled on NXT under the name 'Katrina Cortez.' La Catalina is currently active on the independent scene and majorly performs on CMLL.
At the upcoming Lucha Libre CMLL event on October 11, La Catalina was slated to take on the former AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm. The Timeless One made her return to the Japanese promotion, STARDOM recently and was set to travel to Mexico this weekend for her match in CMLL.
However, the Mexican promotion issued an official statement through X/Twitter stating that the match between Storm and La Catalina has been postponed indefinitely as Storm is unable to fly to Mexico due to the impact of Hurricane Milton. The later date for the postponed match has not been announced yet:
"📄 OFFICIAL STATEMENT, Dear CMLL fans: We would like to inform you that due to the severe impacts caused by Hurricane Milton, the match between Toni Storm and La Catalina will be postponed," the statement read.
Toni Storm's last match in AEW
Toni Storm has been on a tour to Japan for the past few months. She made her return to STARDOM and wrestled three matches there. Prior to that, Storm had her last AEW match at the All In 2024 event. At the Wembley show, The Timeless One lost her Women's World Title to Mariah May.
Meanwhile, Storm has yet to make her return on AEW TV after her last match in August. Only time will tell when the former All Elite Women's World Champion will be back in Tony Khan's promotion.
