WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff claims that Tony Khan has destroyed a top star's character in AEW. The name in question is none other than Mercedes Mone.
The former Sasha Banks arrived in AEW at the Big Business edition of Dynamite in March. The CEO quickly became a top star and made her in-ring debut last month at the Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View. Mercedes defeated Willow Nightingale to capture her first TBS Women's Championship at the PPV.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff slammed Tony Khan for ruining Mercedes Mone's presentation in AEW. The veteran pointed out that Khan should not have given her a live microphone and claimed that it destroyed her character.
"She's tearing it up man, talk about the significance, impact the absolute impact that Mercedes Mone has had on AEW is off the charts... It's off the charts because It's not working and you know why Tony [Khan]? Because you f*cked it up. You didn't introduce Mercedes Mone properly. You didn't build her beyond announcing and teasing. And then you made the career-killing mistake for her of giving her a live mic. "
Bischoff further claimed that Mone could not cut a promo and called Khan out for giving her a microphone before her in-ring debut.
"She can't cut a promo, but yet you put her out there to cut promos for four five six weeks before she ever wrestled. You killed her character before a bell ever rang. And now you're gonna put her on a pedestal and draw all the attention to her encouraging people to make comparisons and guess how that's gonna work out. That's why you don't want to do things like this." [From 00:34 to 01:48]

Eric Bischoff further advised AEW CEO Tony Khan on how he can fix Mercedes Mone's character
Former RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff has a great experience when it comes to working in the creative team of wrestling shows. The veteran is often seen bashing Tony Khan and All Elite Wrestling for the product, however, also provides some solutions on how the company could get better.
Speaking on the same episode of the 83 Weeks podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer explained how Tony Khan could've promoted Mercedes Mone's AEW character.
"When you're down and you're fighting and trying to make a comeback, be humble. Be grateful that Mercedes Mone is here. Talk about what a great person she is to work with. Talk about some of the things she achieved in the past. Talk about the fact that she's internationally known. There are so many things you could be talking about but instead, you draw attention to her by saying some of the most ludicrous sh*t that's only gonna come back and make it harder for her." Mercedes Mone has been the AEW TBS Women's Champion for over a month. It will be interesting to see which female star steps up to dethrone The CEO in the future.
