AEW President Tony Khan has gotten back into the habit of announcing matches days or even weeks in advance for his company's weekly television programs, and he's just announced a first-time-ever matchup for this Wednesday's Dynamite. One week ahead of the special Fright Night episode, Queen Aminata will take on Kamille.
Queen Aminata has been on a mission to capture gold in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Unfortunately, the rising star lost her match against TBS Champion Mercedes Mone last week, due in part to Mone's crony, Kamille.
After being disrespected by the two, Aminata wants some payback, and Tony Khan has granted her the opportunity to face Kamille in the ring. The two are set to square off at this week's AEW Dynamite at Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, UT.
It goes without saying that Mercedes Mone will be present for the match, either on commentary or at ringside. Whether Aminata can overcome Mone's muscle remains to be seen.
Queen Aminata teases rematch with AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone
Queen Aminata first appeared for All Elite Wrestling in April 2021, but she's gained a lot of momentum this year. However, the Guinea-born star hasn't managed to win a title yet.
She had a huge opportunity against Mercedes Mone on last week's AEW Dynamite but fell short. Aminata was graceful after the loss despite the disrespect she endured, and she even teased a future rematch with the TBS Champion:
"I remember watching this woman wrestle on TV not even knowing back then that I wanted to be a wrestler. I fell in love with her style and resilience in the ring. I also really enjoyed her old entrance music. Fast forward to now sharing the ring with her is pretty damn cool I have to admit even tho I don’t like the way she disrespectfully handles her business now anyways, keep working hard towards your goals because you never know what’s on the other side if you don’t try. - Hey CEO @MercedesVarnado … See down the line sooner or later," Queen Aminata shared.
Queen Aminata is quickly becoming a fan favorite in AEW. Whether she can get her hands on a title this year remains to be seen.
