Tony Khan is ringing in the new year with a massive episode of AEW Dynamite. The company's Fight for the Fallen special this Wednesday night will feature the fallout from Worlds End, and the All Elite President has just booked a first-time-ever singles clash between Hangman Adam Page and Orange Cassidy.

Orange Cassidy and Hangman Page have shared the ring several times, but they've never gone one-on-one. Both men were in the four-way main event at Worlds End, but Jon Moxley managed to escape with his title once again.

The upcoming episode of Dynamite will be noteworthy not just because it's AEW's sixth Fight for the Fallen special but also because it's the start of a new era for the company. Under its new television deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, Dynamite and Collision will simulcast on both cable and the MAX streaming service beginning this Wednesday.

Tony Khan confirmed on X (fka Twitter) that the two will face off. The AEW president wrote:

"This Wed, Jan 1 Asheville, NC Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite 8pm ET/7pm CT, on TBS + MAX Fight for the Fallen @orangecassidy vs Hangman Page On New Year’s Day, OC vs Hangman 1-on-1 for the first time ever! WEDNESDAY The Mother of All Simulcasts on BOTH @TBSNetwork + @StreamOnMax."

AEW's Orange Cassidy is determined to press on after losing at Worlds End

While Hangman Page and Jay White were after Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship at Worlds End this past Saturday, Orange Cassidy had a higher goal in mind. The Freshly Squeezed star is standing up against Moxley and his Death Riders, who are trying to tear All Elite Wrestling down in order to rebuild it in their image.

Cassidy wasn't able to get the job done at Worlds End, but he remains determined to save the company he loves. When cameras caught up to him after his loss to Mox, the 40-year-old hinted that his climb back to the main event scene would begin with Hangman:

"I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know why I'm here. Whatever I've been doing has not been working. But I'm going to keep showing up to find whatever it is I'm missing. This Wednesday on Dynamite, I should probably start with Hangman," Cassidy said.

Orange Cassidy has his work cut out for him with the former World Champion, but he may be smart enough to take advantage of Hangman's aggression. Whether the Freshly Squeezed star can pull out a win this Wednesday remains to be seen.
