Tony Khan has made a bold claim about running an AEW event at a legendary wrestling venue. The location is none other than the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Hammerstein Ballroom is one of the most iconic arenas in professional wrestling history. The venue has been home to numerous ECW shows in the past and was also used when Extreme Championship returned as a WWE brand. It hosted the One Night Stand pay-per-views.
On the Sports Grid podcast, AEW CEO Tony Khan said hosting an event at the Hammerstein Ballroom was a possibility for the Jacksonville-based promotion. Khan claimed that the show would sell out quickly.
“For the right event, on the right night, it [AEW at Hammerstein Ballroom] could make a lot of sense. I'd imagine it would sell out very quickly because it's not the biggest room, but it is a fascinating setup and a cool-looking room.”

"I have talked to his dad several times. His father comes to a lot of the AEW shows. So his dad is a regular in the front row anytime we're in Boston. John Cena Sr. is a regular AEW guest and a very nice person. I've never talked to John. There's been a lot of cross-promotion, but we've never talked in person."
John Cena has confirmed that he will compete in numerous matches throughout 2025. It will be interesting to see whether the veteran manages to capture his 17th World Title to surpass Ric Flair's record for most world title wins.
