Ever since its inception, AEW has grown into a professional wrestling juggernaut. Numerous names have been signed by Tony Khan over the years. Many of them are currently massive stars.
Unfortunately, the company has faced a great deal of criticism from veterans and fans for mismanagement of talent. Popular names such as Rey Fenix, Miro, and more had reportedly expressed the desire to leave. However, Tony Khan did not allow it. Many found the promotion's founder's conduct unethical and unfair. But many also believe that it is about time for the 42-year-old to become a cutthroat businessman.
This topic has been the subject of numerous wrestling discussions and podcasts. Recently on the Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL podcast, former WCW Cruiserweight Champion Disco Inferno spoke about this issue. Interestingly, Konnan stated that if he were in Khan's place, he would have booked and buried the wrestlers who wanted to leave.
"This is what I would do. I would use them. I would bury them. And then they can go when the contract's over. The thing is, he's tacked on time, which is prerogative, because Fenix was injured. But they are still getting paid," Konnan said. [From 4:38 to 5:01]
